The North Carolina Asheville area has been recognized for its splendors by dozens of magazines, Web sites and publications in recent years, ranging from the recent designation by Frommer's as one of a dozen top travel destinations in the world for 2007 to one of the top area to purchase a vacation rental property to accolades for the local arts, outdoor adventures, cuisine, organic and vegetarian eats, as a top place to live and retire, and much more.

It boast world class theatre and the arts to the best drum circle on the eastern side of the U.S. It is a fusion of sophistication and simplicity in lifestyle. Outside Magazine: Asheville ranked as “Best Southern Town” in its “Best Towns In America” story.
In each region of the country, the magazine selected the best town with a population of fewer than 100,000 people and the best city with a population of more than 100,000 people.
